Weyburn, SK — May 22, 2026 — The Weyburn Theatre Community Service Cooperative (WTCSC) is proud to announce a significant $75,000 contribution from Aldon Oils, marking a major step forward in bringing the community’s long-envisioned movie theatre to life.

This generous investment positions Aldon Oils as a leading supporter of the new Spark Cinema, a project designed to serve as a modern gathering place for families, and residents across Weyburn and the surrounding area.

“We are incredibly grateful to Aldon Oils for their leadership and commitment to our community,” said Laila Bader on behalf of WTCSC. “Their support brings us closer to creating a space where people can come together to relax, connect, and make lasting memories, just like generations did at the Soo Theatre.”

The new Spark Cinema will offer more than just movies. With two screening rooms, a dedicated party space, and modern amenities, the facility is being designed as a hub for entertainment, celebration, and community engagement.

Aldon Oils’ contribution reflects a strong belief in the importance of community infrastructure and the role it plays in enhancing quality of life. Investments like this help strengthen Weyburn’s appeal as a place to live, work, and raise a family - while also supporting well-being through shared experiences and accessible entertainment.

“Weyburn has always been a community that rallies behind meaningful projects,” said Del Mondor.  “We’re proud to support something that will benefit local families, organizations, and the region as a whole for many years to come.”

The WTCSC continues to build momentum toward its $3 million fundraising goal, with the ultimate aim of opening the Spark Cinema in late 2026.

Community members and organizations interested in supporting the project are encouraged to get involved and be part of this transformative initiative.
